Chakri founded care.ai to bring the first and only AI-powered autonomous monitoring platform to healthcare to safeguard patients and improve outcomes.
Prior to founding care.ai, Chakri was the founder and ceo of HealthGrid, an enterprise patient engagement platform designed to connect patients and providers via their smart devices. In 2018, HealthGrid was acquired by Allscripts to integrate HealthGrid’s functionality into their FollowMyHealth platform.
Prior to that, he was a co-founder of Galvanon, a company which first introduced patient self-service kiosk registration, to automate patient check-in and intake processes at hospitals. Galvanon was acquired by NCR in 2005.
Drew brings over a decade of healthcare information technology experience to this role.
Prior to care.ai, Drew served as EVP and GM at HealthGrid, an enterprise mobile patient communication platform, where he was responsible for P&L management, and ownership of all functions of the organization.
Drew’s prior experience includes roles spanning Strategy, Growth, Product, and Operations, ranging from start-up to mid-size healthcare technology companies.
Parag oversees care.ai’s innovative technology assets that power the healthcare industry’s first and only AI autonomous monitoring platform.
Prior to joining care.ai, Parag was Chief Technology Officer at HealthGrid, a mobile-first, enterprise patient engagement solution for providers, designed to promote healthy patient populations while improving the patient experience.
Prior to that, he was the Chief Software Architect at PatientPoint, a company that authors patient education and engagement content for health systems and provider offices throughout the country.
Kate brings vision and energy to optimizing and growing all revenue-generating aspects of care.ai, including sales, partnerships and overall go-to-market strategy.
Building successful businesses through focus, creativity, trusted relationships and execution is something Kate has long been passionate about throughout her 20 years of sales and business development experience.
Kate joins care.ai after a decade-long tenure with the FollowMyHealth platform that was acquired by Allscripts in 2013. What started as a controversial approach to patient portals quickly disrupted the patient engagement market, with Kate as a core member of the leadership team who drove FollowMyHealth from an interesting idea to a solution with more than 2400 clients and 40 million users.
Joe leads care.ai’s software and hardware engineering team. Joe brings more than 11 years of engineering leadership and experience to care.ai.
Prior to care.ai, Joe led the engineering team at Newyu, a company that provides a subscription-based communications platform offering on-demand services to consumers, to help proactively manage health and safety for individuals treating, caring for, or living with chronic diseases.
As a technology geek at heart, Joe’s passion for engineering is evident by his proven track record of success delivering technical results throughout all phases of his career.
Enrique Santiago serves as in-house counsel for care.ai. Prior to joining, he worked as an associate at Locke Lord LLP, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, private equity venture capital transactions, and general corporate work. Previously, he served as in-house counsel to EMC Corporation.
Enrique graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Business Administration before attending law school at Boston University School of Law. He specializes in banking, finance, corporate, and securities law. He has represented both private equity and venture capital funds as well as start-ups, companies in the healthcare, technology and energy spaces as well as other public and private companies.
Bruce Brandes has over 30 years of experience in executive management and entrepreneurial thought leadership to build growth stage technology-based businesses in the healthcare industry.
Bruce’s experiences range as a strategist, operator, entrepreneur, investor, fund-raiser and marketer to advance the transformational promise of digital health.

Mark Crandall brings more than twenty years of Information Technology and Management Consulting experience across Healthcare settings to “connect the dots” between mountains of big data, actionable information, and true outcome improvement for patients through technology. Prior to joining care.ai, Mark served as Chief Information Officer for one of the largest Senior Healthcare Services providers in the United States.
Mark has collaborated with IT resources all over the world to navigate the ever-changing complexities of regulated industries to combine seamless delivery with outstanding business value. Featured in a variety of industry publications as well as an award-winning CIO, Mark embraces technology to lead the innovative charge, enhance quality of care given by tens of thousands of practitioners, and power more human care.
Mark also serves his community on several non-profit Boards and co-founded a nutritional platform for culinary and health professionals. He is a proud father of two daughters and lives in Downtown Orlando.
Willem brings over 25 years of finance, accounting, M&A and leadership experience to this role.
Prior to care.ai, he served as the CFO for a Chicago-based IT company, where he built out the back office function. Prior to that, he was at a large global IT company where he focused primarily on FP&A, M&A and compensation.
Willem strives to enhance Finance and HR by prioritizing people, tools, and processes while delivering timely, relevant data and analysis to drive informed decisions.
Cindy is an accomplished Nurse Executive with a demonstrated track record of successfully guiding teams toward realizing a transformative vision and creating value within the healthcare sector through innovative smart care facilities integrating virtual and ambient technologies.
Proficient in merging clinical and operational care delivery models, optimizing workforce performance, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and establishing robust metrics to evaluate program success in terms of financial and clinical quality outcomes.
Cindy joins the care.ai team with skills in Nursing Leadership, Change Management, Leader Development, and enhancing Patient Experience. She is an accomplished business development professional holding a Master of Science in Nursing from the Research College of Nursing in Kansas City, MO.
